Israel Hands opens with a pistol salvo at long range. Dodge sideways (not backward) and close the gap during the reload window.

Boss #2 — Blackbeard's quartermaster, fought in Foothills. He drops Charon's Obol, the gate item for the Cursed Marshes. This is the first fight that punishes panic-dodging during pistol salvos.
TL;DR
Dodge sideways, never backward. Close on every reload. Clear his adds in phase 3 before returning to him.
Standing at range invites musket damage you cannot heal through. Glue to him with Iron Rapier, parry-punish openers, and pop a Crit Elixir before phase 3.

Phase 2 — Musket + cutlass mix
At ~65% HP he weaves cutlass combos between musket shots. Stay glued at melee range so he cannot reload safely.
Phase 3 — Quartermaster's rage
Below ~30% he calls in adds (1–2 pirates). Clear adds first with ranged, then return to him during his attack pause.
